Helpful Information
Some Rules, Guidelines, and Information to make your landfill experience safe, clean, and efficient.
Cover your load
On your way to the landfill be sure that your load is covered and secured.
The landfill has a covered load policy;
-
All small waste that is bagged or un-bagged needs to be covered with a tarp or a cargo net.
-
Larger items such as furniture or white goods can be secured with a strap or tie down and do not need to be covered.
Doing this helps prevents your waste from littering the highway and possibly becoming a hazard to someone else.
Entering the Landfill
-
As you enter the landfill please acknowledge all posted signs. These signs have helpful information that will make your trip to the landfill easier and more productive.
-
As you approach the scale please slow down to 5MPH and come to a complete stop once on the scale.
-
The scale house attendant will ask you for your address or for proof of residency (drivers license, utility bill, etc.) so please be prepared to provide this information.
-
Please wait until the scale house attendant opens the window and speaks with you about your load. It is the scale house attendant's job to screen your waste and tell you the correct area to go inside the landfill.
-
Remember, the landfill staff are there to make your trip as efficient and safe as possible. Please listen to all instruction given to you.
Inside the landfill
-
Once you are inside the landfill please obey and acknowledge all posted signs.
-
Please follow the posted speed limit of 25MPH at all times.
-
Remember most of the roads are dirt and that means they can get muddy or rutty at times.

Please pay attention and use caution when driving. We strive to maintain our roads, so please help us in maintaining them by driving safely and respectfully.
-
Understand that you may encounter heavy equipment and bigger commercial vehicles while on site. Please share the road accordingly and practice safe driving while on site.
-
Once you have arrived at your designated disposal area please obey all posted signage.
-
Please be respectful of other patrons that may be using the same disposal area and maintain a safe distance while dumping.
-
If in the main fill area please wait for the attendant to screen your load, answer any questions you have, and designate you where to dump. Please realize that you may be dumping alongside bigger commercial vehicles and it is the attendants job to make your dumping experience safe. In doing so, they may ask you to wait for a period of time. Please be respectful in that they are doing their job.
